AMERICAN AIRLINES TO LAUNCH NEW NON-STOP FLIGHTS FROM PHOENIX NEXT WINTER
New Daily Flights into Aspen Snowmass Begin December 15, 2017 Seasonal Service Continues to Expand from DFW and Chicago
(Aspen, CO – 4.5.2017) The Aspen/Pitkin County Airport (ASE) announced that American Airlines will offer new daily nonstop flights from Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) starting next winter along with expanded service from both Dallas Ft. Worth (DFW) and Chicago O’ Hare (ORD). In addition to continuing nonstop summer service through October 4 not only from DFW but from Chicago this year, as well, American is scheduled to resume nonstop flights from DFW for the winter on November 5 while adding a second daily nonstop from Chicago during periods of peak demand next winter.
American is now scheduled to serve ASE nine months of the year in 2017, while offering a total of up to seven daily flights from four hubs next winter. The timing of these winter flights will now allow for connections from American’s entire domestic and global networks. All American flights into Aspen Snowmass are now open for sale at www.aa.com and will be operated with CRJ700 aircraft, featuring a total of 70 seats including nine seats in First Class.
"This expansion by American will again open up more new markets for locals and visitors from which convenient connections to and from Aspen Snowmass that haven’t been previously possible," said Aspen/Pitkin County Airport Director, John Kinney.

AA 3135 Departs PHX at 9:35 a.m, arrives at ASE at 11:20 a.m. AA 3135 Departs ASE at 11:53 a.m. arrives at PHX at 1:43 p.m.
“In addition to opening service from our tenth nonstop market during the winter and one that is certain to be popular with locals, American’s new service from Phoenix is going to make travel from throughout California easier than ever,” said Bill Tomcich, President of Stay Aspen Snowmass. “Specifically, we'll now have options on American from virtually all of California's ‘Santa’ cities, including San Diego, Santa Ana, Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, San Jose and Santa Rosa, not to mention Burbank, Long Beach, Ontario, Palm Springs, Bakersfield, Fresno, Monterey and Sacramento in addition to Reno and Las Vegas in Nevada,” Tomcich added. “And from Texas, we’ll also have additional connections from Austin and San Antonio, our two top Texas markets that don't currently have nonstop flights into ASE.”
Aspen/Pitkin County Airport is located only three miles from Aspen and seven miles from Snowmass Village, the closest airport to any ski resort in North America.
